Participant Communities

Your community was chosen to provide a range of air pollution profiles across Southern California, to see how air quality affects health. There were 16 communities altogether.

Participant Groups (Cohorts)

  • Cohort A: Participants recruited in 1992 and most graduated from high school in 1995.
  • Cohort B: Participants recruited in 1992 and most graduated from high school in 1998.
  • Cohort C: Participants recruited in 1992 and most graduated from high school in 2001.
  • Cohort D: Participants recruited in 1995 and most graduated from high school in 2004.
  • Cohort E: Participants recruited in 2002/2003. High School graduation year in 2014 and 2015.
